Device for automatic joining together of two thin bands coming from supply rolls. The rolls are mounted on roll carriers (3, 4) that are mounted so that they can be displaced vertically. Two heads (6, 7) provide the means for automatic connection of the bands coming from the rolls. The heads can be moved towards or away from each other along the horizontal structure (8), just as suspended elements can be moved above the roll carriers the role of which is to remove the mandrel from the empty rolls.
