The splint is approximately rectangular in shape when viewed from above, comprising two long sides (C, D) and two short sides (A, B). The two long sides are curved slightly inwards in the centre, and the two short sides are curved to fit over the finger and are lined with a hypoallergenic foam (E). The splint is fixed in place by a hypoallergenic stretch adhesive strip or hook and loop fabric of similar width to the two short sides.
