Particles (A) of active agent(s) (I), having an effective amount of a surface stabilizer comprising an anionic copolymer (II) of a dicarboxylic acid (or its salt) adsorbed on the particle surface, are new. Independent claims are included for: (1) dispersions of (A) in a liquid medium; (2) the preparation of (A); a method for treating the surface of (I) particles, involving contacting the particles, dispersed in a liquid medium, with (II) under conditions suitable for adsorption; and (3) the use of (II) (optionally in combination with a nonionic (co)polymer (III)) as a surface stabilizing agent.
