The device has a chassis (1) providing a lifting mechanism (17) equipped with a downshift cable and crank. The crank permits to lift a load through a vertical carriage having four directional wheels offering a rotation of more than 90 degrees. An articulated lever (18) connected to a sprocket controls rotation of the wheels. The lever allows transversal and longitudinal displacement of the load without rotating the load.
