Connector between heddle and control cord of Jacquard loom has tube with bevelled upper edge that co-operates with ogival or conical surface of adjacent heddle

The loom heddle (2) and control cord (9) connector consists of a plastic tip that can slide on the heddle and has an ogival or conical lower end and an upper cylindrical shoulder to receive a plastic tube that goes over the joint between the upper end of the heddle and the cord. The upper end of the tube has a bevelled peripheral edge that is able to co-operate with the ogival or conical surface on the tip of an adjacent heddle to produce a transverse motion that moves the two components apart during a vertical movement. The length of each tube is such that after fitting to the tip the combined height of the two is less than the shed aperture. In addition, the upper end of the heddle has a loop (5) that engages automatically with the hooked end of the cord.
