The method involves implementing two secret cryptographic functions by a transmitter and multiple decoders during encryption and decryption of broadcasted information, respectively. A memory of each decoder stores a mathematical description of the function different from a description stored in a memory of the other decoders or the group of decoders that the description identifies. The transmitter implements the secret cryptographic function to transform an unencrypted message to an encrypted message. An independent claim is also included for a system of tracing encryption and/or decryption of broadcasted information comprising a memory.
