The back pack has a dorsal side protected by a removable rectangular interior plate (12) and is temporarily deformed at the exterior of the back pack, when the plate is accidentally deformed. The plate is deformed by knee bands along a longitudinal central axis (L) in a manner to form a splint (16) for being positioned around a limb (17) of a person.
