The cosmetic box has a base (12) that is provided with a receptacle (20) for storing a cosmetic product. A compartment (16) stores an applicator (18) of the cosmetic product. A cover (14) of the receptacle moves between closed and open positions to seal and uncover the receptacle, respectively. The cover, in closed position, partially closes the opening of the compartment. An independent claim is also included for a method of retaining a cosmetic product applicator.
