Installation for the electromagnetic stirring of a weakly conducting fluid, comprises: (a) a cylindrical enclosure (1) able to contain the fluid; (b) a first winding (5) made up of two coils (51,52) formed around two first distinct zones of the enclosure and connected in opposite series for the passage of opposing currents, with the terminals of the first winding connected to the terminals of a first capacitor (C) and to the terminals of an alternating voltage source (3); (c) at least a second winding (6) with two coils (61,62) formed around two distinct second zones of the enclosure, one of which is situated between the first zones of the enclosure, and connected in opposite series for the passage of opposing currents, the terminals of the second winding being connected to the terminals of a second capacitor (C').
