Production of an exact reproduction of a mineral wall using a polymer sheet coated with a mineral composition, notably reproductions of notable sites such as ornate grottoes

The production of a reproduction of a mineral wall comprises: (i) the preparation of a positive mould of the wall to be reproduced; and, (ii) forming an imprint from this mould and producing a draft from this imprint. The preparation of the positive mould includes an operation providing a rough surface finish and a treatment of the mould to reproduce the surface condition of the original wall. The production of a reproduction of a mineral wall comprises: (i) the preparation of a positive mould of the wall to be reproduced; and, (ii) forming an imprint from this mould and producing a draft from this imprint. The preparation of the positive mould includes an operation providing a rough surface finish and a treatment of the mould to reproduce the surface condition of the original wall. The production of the draft from the imprint of the mould comprises the deposition in the imprint of a mineral composition followed by at least one stratification of the composition by a polymer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) the reproduction which consists of a sheet of polymer with a coating of the mineral composition; and, (2) the mineral composition used in the reproduction operation.
