The assembly has a seal ring (111) held longitudinally in inlet portion of a longitudinal bore (103) that is formed in a master cylinder body (102). The ring cooperates with a pin (195) cooperating with a check valve (138), in a predetermined rest position of a primary piston (109) to define corresponding rest position of the valve. The ring is adjustable from outside the body to adjust rest position of the valve. An independent claim is also included for a process for adjusting dead stroke of a primary piston in a master cylinder assembly.
