The cabinet, comprising a display compartment (1) mounted on a base support (2) and having a top (3) and sides (5), an opening rear wall (6), a fixed transparent front wall (7) and supports (9) for removable food containers (10, 11). It has a hot and moist air generator (12) creating a flow (13) that passes horizontally over the open tops of the food containers from the front to the back of the cabinet. The generator itself is in a compartment (14a) beneath the containers, containing a tangential flow fan (15) that draws in air through an intake (17) at the back and passes it over heating resistances (18) and through a moisturiser (19) for recirculation.
