The device has vertically movable supports (9, 10) to receive cash box stacks (11, 12). A mechanical connection unit controls the supports in a synchronized manner. Two posts (2, 3) have guide rails (7, 8) that mount supports (9, 10), respectively. The device frees the space between the post (3) and an upper box of the stack (11), at preset height, to directly transfer the box towards the stack (12) by lateral translation.
