The needle has an end part (122) for prehension, a pointed end part (124) and a curved intermediate part (126) that connects the parts (122, 124) to each other. The part (126) has curved portions (126A, 126C), each forming an arc of circle, where sum of the angles at the apex is equal to around 180 degrees. The parts (122, 124) extend along respective directions and parallel to each other. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a surgical device for the treatment of urinary stress incontinence of a woman (b) a method for manufacturing a surgical needle for a device for treating urinary stress incontinence of a woman.
