The lubricator (12) for a bicycle control cable has an inner chamber to receive the cable core (4) and sheath sections (61,62) spaced by a cut (10) in the sheath. The sheath segments are force fit against lips (20) for sealing while a lubricant is fed to the core. The housing can have an insert (26) to receive the cable core and having stops for the sheath sections.
