The use of 1alpha -fluoro-25-hydroxy-16,23E-diene-26,27-bishomo-20-epi-cholecalciferol (I) or its salt or ester (I') is claimed in the production of medicaments for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), (I)/(I') optionally being used in combination with a second anti-BPH agent (II). The use of 1alpha -fluoro-25-hydroxy-16,23E-diene-26,27-bishomo-20-epi-cholecalciferol (I) or its salt or ester (I') is claimed in the production of medicaments for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), (I)/(I') optionally being used in combination with a second anti-BPH agent (II) (administered separately, sequentially or simultaneously in the same formulation or a different formulation). Independent claims are included for: (1) corresponding formulations for treating BPH; and (2) pharmaceutical formulations (A) (with no restriction on use) comprising (I) dissolved in fractionated coconut oil, optionally together with preservative(s).
