The method involves successively extracting data blocks in their order of appearance from a binary representation of a collected information unit (E1), and numbering the blocks in ascending order. An XML markup is allocated to each block. The markups of the blocks are determined from a pre-defined block look-up table supplying an XML markup based on number of blocks. The processed unit is obtained in an XML format. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a system for processing collected digital information units for broadcasting data (b) a computer program to be installed in a computer device for processing collected digital information units for broadcasting data.
