The amplifier has an electronic tube with axial electron beam, a cathode (16) and two collectors (14a, 14b). Each collector is connected to one of two direct voltage sources (30, 36). The sources are connected to each other at a common point (32) situated at the level of the collector (14b) whose potential difference with the cathode is small but not null. Each collector has potential difference such that, the more the collector is spaced away from the cathode, the less is the potential difference between the collector and the cathode. An independent claim is also included for a transmitter.
