A cigarette pack with improved extraction of single cigarettes has a tab (30) in the top of the flip top lid (22) which is opened via perforation lines (31) enabling the user to shake out one cigarette at a time. The tab has a slot (33) which enables the user to easily prise open the tab. The tab can be round or rectangular and is simply pressed back into a closed position when a cigarette is removed.
