In a multilayer film (A) comprising a surface layer (L1) and sublayer(s) (L2), all formed from organic polymer(s) and free of complexing/chelating agents and mineral fillers, (L1) contains agent(s) (I) for promoting the removal of the layer by a rinsing liquid (B). Independent claims are included for methods for the preparation of (A), involving: (1) applying an aqueous emulsion of the polymer to a surface to form a film by coalescence (specifically at room temperature or the temperature of use of the surface), optionally drying and impregnating with (I); or (2) adding (I) to at least one of two or more separate portions of the polymer emulsion and applying the portions successively to the surface.
