The method involves connecting client stations (2a-2c, 2j) to a HTTP web server (1) over a communication network (N). Data comprising addressing data to design a preset virtual desktop is received from a dynamic page of the station (2a). The received data is inserted with data stored in the server. The modified data is downloaded towards the station (2b) in which the desktops are designed by the addressing data. An independent claim is also included for virtual desktop server for implementing a method of communication in client/server mode.
