Reinforcing material comprises a coherent web (9) containing glass and thermoplastic filaments. A number of web layers can be felted by water jets and stuck to a backing (15) of reinforcing fibres of glass, carbon or thermoplastic. Reinforcing material comprises a coherent web (9) containing glass and thermoplastic filaments. The web has a preferable weight of about 20 g/m2 and comprises about 50-80 wt.% of glass filaments between 10 and 24 Microm in diameter and about 80-20 wt.% of thermoplastic filaments between 10 and 30 Microm in diameter. The filaments are about 30-60 mm long, with the glass filaments at least partially bonded by the thermoplastic ones. A number of web layers can be felted by water jets and stuck to a backing (15) of reinforcing fibres of glass, carbon or thermoplastic.
