The press has a chassis with a pair of opposite leg assemblies (3, 7) fixed on a table. The assemblies are arranged selectively on two different standing positions. Free edges of joints (1, 2) extend horizontally by upper part and lower part of the chassis in respective standing positions, for permitting free access to part of quire set. A set square ruler (6) extends perpendicularly to locking surfaces of the joints. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of sawing in the binding of set of notebooks (b) a method of binding of set of notebooks.
