The lug has a metallic frame (2) comprising a loop (3) at its middle and U shaped hooks (5, 5) at its ends. The hooks have bottom bars (9, 9) which connect lateral posts (6, 7, 6, 7) of the hooks. The hooks support interchangeable plastic inserts that include hooks (11, 11) for retaining tie-in strings. Each insert has two clips on the post (6) and the bar, to maintain the insert with respect to the frame. An independent claim is also included for an arboricultural or wine growing tie-in comprising a lug.
