The support has a lighting unit with a group of light emitting diodes (10). The group is fixed on an inner surface of a lower edge (210) of an upright rod, to light the front face of an object (1) e.g. photolithograph, that is mounted on the bottom of the support. The LED bands are supplied by a plug through a low voltage transformer (41), and an on-off switch (42) is provided to stop the supply without unplugging the supply.
