The headrest has a lever system (13) moving a cushion (11) between a retracted position in which the cushion is folded towards a backrest and a deployed position in which the cushion extends towards a top beyond the backrest. The cushion is mounted on a support (12) connecting the system to the cushion. A height adjusting unit adjusts the cushion height with respect to the support between lower and upper positions. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle seat having a headrest.
