The device has a thermal engine (10) with an exhaust passage (6) that is connected to an inlet (1a) of a compressed air supply circuit of a pneumatic tool (1) e.g. pneumatic drill. Exhaust gas flowing in the passage creates pressure necessary for operation of the tool. A cooling unit and a fixation unit are mounted between the exhaust passage and the supply circuit.
