The method involves measuring tail shakes created on the skeleton (17) of a helicopter (2), using three sensors (18-20). An angle variation of a vertical stabilizer (9) susceptible to generate tail shake opposition force is determined from the measurement. The stabilizer is placed at a tail part of a fuselage (3). The angle variation is applied to a control system (10) of vertical stabilizer angle to eliminate the tail shakes. An independent claim is also included for a device for reducing tail shakes created on the skeleton of a helicopter, by streamline flow across a main rotor and streamline flow across the fuselage.
