The method involves placing a system in non-operating state, when a signal received on a home data interface is invalid. A secured booting method is begun with execution of control functions, when the signal is a disconnection signal or the signal is absent on the interface. This involves a self-test of the hard-programmed software followed by a test of the programmable memory integrity. An essential function of an operating mechanism is deactivated if the system is in operating mode and if the signal is a test signal. An independent claim is also included for a system detecting modification of software embedded in a programmable memory.
