The method involves positioning a parts assembly (14) comprising a weld (12) to be checked on a horizontal plate (16). The weld quality is checked during which a digital camera (20) transmits images of the weld to images analyzing installation (26). The installation checks whether the weld has a defect. The assembly is marked by a marking unit (32) that is activated when the weld has the defect.
