The process involves installing spray nozzles/injectors (9) in a hood or ceiling, and directing the nozzles/injectors towards a backside of hood and ceiling filters. The nozzles/injectors spray water mixed with biological products comprising biodegradable micro-organisms of grease and organic matter. The nozzles/injectors are selected based on extraction system characteristics, volume of air to be extracted, and a number of the filters. An independent claim is also included for a device for cleaning and degreasing of vented hood filter and ceiling filter.
