The process involves constructing a logical filter parameterizable by information identifying a source termination (2) and a destination termination (4) participating in a conversational session e.g. videotelephony session, and storing the filter in a middlebox (10). The stored filter is supplemented with the parameters exchanged by the terminations via session initiation protocol (SIP) signaling. An INDEPENDENT CALIM is also included for a device of filtering packets of IP media stream exchanged between a source termination and a destination termination.
