The device has a chassis (9) and two sliding tubes (4, 5) connected to a push rod (11) by two axles (1, 3), respectively. The chassis is connected to the tubes by an axle (2). The tubes are driven into one another by the rod when wheels (10) of a person or object transport equipment are not in a same horizontal plan. A lever actuates a pin linked to it by a cable or rod, for integrating and disintegrating the tubes.
