The device has a switch (14) to activate and deactivate speed regulating operation of a vehicle. Buttons (12, 15) permit to increase and decrease a speed set point value by predetermined increments, respectively. Interrupting button (13) permits either momentary stop if speed regulation is activated or regulation retrieval if the regulation is deactivated. An independent claim is also included for a method of regulating and limiting speed of a vehicle.
