The device has a hollow porous body (11) integrated in line on a tubular circuit (7) that is attached to a primary circuit (4) by temperature controllers (8-10). The controllers (8, 9) are opened and the controller (10) is closed for permitting circulation of the liquid in the circuit (7) and vice-versa for permitting circulation in the circuit (4). The body evaporates water or aqueous azeotrope of coolant through its pores. An independent claim is also included for a method for reducing temperature of cooling circuit of an internal combustion engine.
