The prosthesis has a ring (11) with an insert (12) having an internal threading (121) connected to a connection rod (21). The internal threading permits the rod to be pushed in an intervertebral cavity where it is compressed. The ring is made of a monoblock deformable viscoelastic material (M). The assembly of components having the same function of compressing the prosthesis is placed in a compartment of an insertion device. The connection rod slides through a hole (111) that is perforated transversely in the plane of the prosthesis. The assembly of components having the same function of compressing the prosthesis is transferred to an implantation site and the rod is then removed from the site. An independent claim is also included for an insertion device for implantation of intervertebral annulus prosthesis.
