The manufacturing process uses cast iron containing the following materials (percentage weight in brackets): C (3 - 4); Si (1.7 - 3); Mn (0.1 - 0.7); Ni (0 - 4); Cu (0 - 1.5); Mo (0 - 0.5); residual Mg (0.025 - 0.080), and the remainder iron and impurities, poured in a liquid state at a temperature of 1350 - 1550 degrees C. The cast iron is essentially bainitic, perlitic or ferritic in structure, and moulded blanks made from it have a volume more or less identical to the finished component and are shaped by hot plastic deformation using calibration in containers or closed matrices to avoid any side burrs.
