The device has a cylindrical base (8) that rotates around a main axis to control winding or unwinding of a cable (6). The cable has one end connected to an energy supply system and another end connected to a decoy (10) that emits multidirectional infrared radiation to deceive surface-to-air missile. The base maintains the decoy at the edge of an aircraft (2) in a wound position and at a distance from the aircraft in an unwound position.
