The device has a Charleston open drive (16) placed below a lower cymbal (2) and responding to a stroke of a stick, from top to bottom, on an edge of a Charleston. The open drive is intended to control a lifting point (19) articulated to a cymbal rod (8) which exerts a bottom to top movement towards an upper cymbal (1). The Charleston is tilted under an effect of the stroke to exert pressure on a plate in order to open the Charleston.
