The container is made with layer(s) (1,2), at least one of which is 'active' and contains dispersed granules of a microwave absorbing material e.g. ferrites, inside a food-grade coating of aluminium, copper, silver or silicium. The container shape is designed for static or continuous heating, and the ferrites are in grains smaller than 250 mcm. The container is made with layer(s) (1,2), at least one of which is 'active', i.e. is made from silicone-type or plastic material containing dispersed granules of a microwave absorbing material such as ferrites inside a food-grade coating of aluminium, copper, silver or silicium. The container shape is designed for static (discontinuous) or continuous heating, and the ferrites, such as Fe3O4, Mn(Fe2O3) or Zn(Fe2O3) are in grains smaller than 250 mcm.
