The case has an annular tight joint (9) compressed between a plane annular surface (7) of a hollow piece (1) and a peripheral region of a collector plate. The joint contacts with slugs (12) molded on the piece and projecting with respect to the surface. One end of the slugs rests on a plane part of the plate to define a rate of compression for the joint which is extended elastically for surrounding the slugs. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a heat exchanger comprising a collector case (B) a method for assembling a collector case.
