The ring has an elastic flank (4) with one side supported against a main drive pinion (16) forming a part of a clearance compensation pinion (18) and another side supported against the pinion (18). The ring has open ends widened to constitute lugs each of which comprises a pin (14) formed on opposite sides of the flank. The pins form a rigid assembly with the flank, and the ring is constituted of a single part. An independent claim is also included for a backlash pinion including a clearance compensation elastic ring.
