The unit has a longitudinal insulating body (20) with sides to be erected against a floor slab (50) or a balcony slab to be fixed on a wall (40). Primary undercuts (22) are provided along one of the sides of the body. The undercuts are spaced from each other to form projections (51) carrying the floor or balcony slabs. The undercuts are closed downwards by sliding plates (30) that are thermo insulating and resistant to pressure.
