The seat cover, made from a thermoplastic or other material that can be hydrosoluble, biodegradable or recyclable, with optional bactericidal treatment, has one part (1) with adhesive zones (2, 3) to cover the seat and includes an additional flap (6) with an adhesive zone (4) that attaches to the underside of the seat lid. After use the cover is removed by pulling on a non-adhesive tongue (5) on the end of the lid flap. A version for more prolonged use. e.g. during a hotel stay, can be made from a thermoplastic that is shaped to fit closely on the seat by heat applied by a hair drier.
