The device has a new generation LED having large power in the order of few hundreds of milli watt and which emits directly red or infrared radiation. A mirror focuses light rays emitted by the LED forward. An optical waveguide is positioned in contact with the mirror to channel light towards the depth of a tissue. A camera sensitive to the infrared radiation is provided for capturing and processing information.
