A body side Bs of an automotive vehicle is supported so that the front to rear direction of the body side coincides with the transfer direction. A hanger 3 on an overhead rail has a plurality of support members 8, 13, 14, 15 for supporting a side sill lower portion, a rear pillar p or adjacent portion and an arch portion front side of a rear wheel house H of the body side. The hanger is configured to support the body side in a posture inclining inboard of the automotive vehicle and declining toward a rear end of the body sill. The hanger is further configured so that the body side is urged only by its own weight against the support members so as to be positioned and supported thereby. The support member 8 for the rear pillar may be L shaped, have portions elongated in the front to rear direction and vertically and have a curved abutment surface. The support members 13, 14 for supporting the side sill lower portion may have a v shaped positioning groove or recess.
