PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal display element and the polymer-dispersed liquid crystal element, which are superior in low-driving voltage characteristics in a low-temperature area and have a high voltage holding ratio and can be driven by an active element.;SOLUTION: The composition for a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal display element contains a compound selected from groups given by a general formula (I-a) and a general formula (I-b) and contains a compound given by a general formula (I-c) and contains a compound given by a general formula (II-b) and contains a polymerization initiator, and the polymer-dispersed liquid crystal element uses this composition. The liquid crystal display element has a wide operation temperature range and is superior in scattering characteristic and has less changes with time in these properties and is superior in thermal resistance and light resistance and is very practical for a display device utilizing light scattering.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
