PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data generating device and an image data generation processing program with superior gradations by a dot pattern whose stability is superior, and a thermal transfer recording device etc. PSOLUTION: The image data generating device comprises: an image data acquiring means of acquiring image data; a sectioning means of specially sectioning the acquired image data by a plurality of matrixes; a priority level determining means of determining priority levels of gradation conversion for respective pixels constituting the image data corresponding to the respective matrixes, the priority level determining means being characterized in determining the priority levels so that the priority levels decrease in order from pixels in the centers of the matrixes to pixels at outer edges of the matrixes; a gradation converting means of converting gradations of the respective pixels according to the priority levels; and an image data generating means of generating image data for printing based upon a dot pattern formed of respective pixels after the gradation conversion.
