PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbide broach made of surface coated cemented carbide having a lubricating amorphous carbon-base coat exhibiting an excellent wear resistance.;SOLUTION: This carbide broach made of surface coated cemented carbide is constructed by forming a lubricating amorphous carbon-base coat by vapor deposition. The lubricating amorphous carbon-base coat contains 5 to 20 atom% W, 5 to 20 atom% Ti and 0.5 to 18 atom% nitrogen, which are measured by an Auger spectral analysis device, the remainder has a composition composed of carbon and inevitable impurity, in the observation using a transmission type electronic microscope, the coat shows the tissue in which fine grains of crystalline carbon nitride titanium compound are dispersed and distributed in the raw of the carbonic amorphous substance, and the coat has an average layer thickness 1 to 3 μm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
