PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic damper device that can generate torque that is constantly stable irrespective of the speed of a movable body, and to provide a control method of the electromagnetic damper motor. PSOLUTION: When a requirement point (C-point) defined by a control force f3 and a motor operation speed v3 exists in a region 5 within a motor operation out-of-region boundary speed, a C'-point designation command is sent to a driver 16 in place of a C-point designation command, and a motor 12 is operated. Since a command of the motor operation is put in a motor operation range 1, a stable generation force (torque) can be generated by the motor. The motor, a controlled object, a load or the like can be prevented from applied with impact forces. When a D-point defined by a control force f4 and a motor operation speed v4 exists in a non-control first region 7, power distribution to an armature 19 is stopped and the generation force of the motor 12 is made zero.
